Pop-up Show Landing in Garden City Sept.22-24
Dear friends and family,
Well, its been quite a ride since my last blog post! Undoubtably the last nine months have signaled a kind of rebirth for me. My journeys to Guatemala have been filled with incredible lessons, wisdom, revelations, creativity, medicine, and abundance. I've developed powers and strengths I didn't even know I had.
Namely, I have had what you would call a spiritual awakening. I've been "reborn" for sure, as I've learned how to shed old beliefs and social programing, while growing a new skin that connects me to the intelligence, medicine, energies and wisdom of Mother Nature. Change is not often comfortable. Certainly my own growing pains are not something I've been clamoring to share with all of you--hahaha! So perhaps this is part of my silence these past few months. But time heals, and this summer has provided many opportunities for that.
My spiritual development has deepened my connection with the elements, laws, and all of nature's creation. As well, my connection to my own art has become much more profound. I am delighted to make "new friends" with the plants, trees and animals in my environment through my artwork. It should come as no surprise, then, to see the natural world come alive in my newest works.
Now, after a summer in McCall among the Giant Firs and Ponderosas, next to Lake Payette, I've had a beautiful period of focussed creativity. For the third year in a row, I've shown my work at "Art in the Courtyard", sponsored by the local artist cooperative Gallery 55 at the end of August. Summer is over, but the fun has just begun.
Now, I am getting ready for another show in the Boise area. If you are in the Boise, please come to see me! I'll be exhibiting all of my newest work during the Flipside Fest in Garden City, September 22-24. I'll be showing my art with my dear friend-and-artist-extraordinaire, Heather Bee. You will love seeing her delicious, sensuous encaustic paintings. The address is 111 E 37th Street, Garden City. Hours to be announced. This is during an incredible weekend of music in GC! check out details here:
I have been busy creating smaller items like candleholders and accent lighting as well as new mosaic light paintings. You'll find new surprises as always....
I've also begun producing prints of my work, available for purchase, along with accent pillows, tote bags, lighting, mugs and glassware. These are all items designed by me that will that hopefully won't break your bank account. You can now order these and other items on my shop.
If you're in the Boise area September 22-24, make a date to come say hi and see my new work. Every work has a story, so please come and ask me to tell you one!
Hope to see you soon!
